Trainz at York

The big news in April for Trainz, was attending the York, Pennsylvania Train Collectors Association Meet.  The Trainz.com booth was located in the Orange Hall this year.  We were in the Purple Hall last year, so we hope you found us and stopped by to say hello.   We had an amazing time meeting with our Trainz friends and meeting new ones!  The TCA’s Eastern Division reported a record breaking registration record.  If you’re still not a TCA member, please consider becoming a member of this great organization.  This is the train meet of all train meets, people from all over travel to York, PA to join in the camaraderie that only train collectors can appreciate.   Don’t put off planning for this great event, the next meet is scheduled 16th, 17th, & 18th of October 2008.  To find out more information please visit http://www.easterntca.org/rules.htm.  See you there!

Lionel:
The Lionel 2008 Christmas catalog has been released.  Twenty three new items have been introduced to the Christmas line.  Get your order in before the deadline and you’ll be guaranteed availability.  The deadline for Christmas items is May 20th. 

Marklin:
Trainz is now offering all of the 2008 new Marklin and Trix items on our pre-order program. As always, the Trainz pre-order program includes Free shipping on all orders! Check out our Pre-Order Site, it has a whole group of other products that have not yet been released from the Manufacturers, that are not shown on our regular Trainz store site. We now have over 400 items listed that will become available throughout 2008. Many items are extremely limited and will sell out, please order early. Our orders will be fulfilled in the order that they are received.

PreOrder Tips:
Sometimes it may seem like a long time before your order arrives, be assured that we will send you an email when the item arrives and is ready to ship, so you’ll always know when we receive your item.

We just want to emphasize a few tips to remember while waiting for your preorders to come in

  1. Check the Lionel or MTH shipping schedule often for release date updates
  2. If your credit card on file changes, contact us as soon as possible
  3. If your address on file changes, contact us as soon as possible
  4. If your phone number changes, contact us as soon as possible

Remember folks, if your credit card expires and the item is released, we can’t ship it to you if your credit card is not valid.  Keep your card updated by emailing preorder@trainz.com and one of our representatives will be happy to call you to update your card information.

April Showers bring May… Showers of Trainz!  - Look for many postwar train sets made from 1945 to 1951 we will be selling on eBay in the coming weeks. We will have every set made in that time period and many variations of each one.

During the York Meet, visitors to the Trainz.com booth had the opportunity to enter our drawing to win a $50 Gas Card.  The winners are Don Tessendendorf and Jim Griffin Congratulations to you both!  If you have a chance to attend in the Fall, please stop by our booth to find out what were giving away next time! 

Check out our new wish list enhancements, a long time coming, but I think you will agree it is worth the wait. We had some unexpected technical challenges, but now you will receive notifications for items that we both list on our website and eBay.

Spam Filters & Junk Mail Folders
Folks, if you haven’t heard back from us via email, please check your Spam and Junk mail folders. More than likely, that is the cause of undelivered emails. If your email program is blocking us, please edit your options by accepting our emails from Trainz.
Weird Emails From Trainz?
No, we are not in Romania, we don’t use Western Union and we most certainly did not send you a second chance offer! If you have been receiving these “spoof” emails, we know how annoying they can be. The best and only defense we have to these types of emails is to report them to eBay and to block them in your email program. A “Second Chance Offer” or “Best Offer”, are terms and features used within eBay. We do not choose to use those features. Generally, if we do not receive payment for an item, our system will automatically cancel the sale and relist the item to our website or eBay. There have only been a few instances that we have contacted the 2nd bidder to inquire if they would like to purchase an item before relisting it due to non-payment. If we ever contact you concerning a Second Chance Offer, we will send you an email and ask that you call us. If ever in doubt, check with us first.
What’s the best way to view Trainz.com?
Did you know that if you set your computers resolution to 1024 x 768 or higher, you will view Trainz.com at its very best. Right-click on your Windows desktop and click Properties, then select the Settings tab and scroll the arrow to 1024 x 768 pixels or higher. Click “OK” and you are done! Or you can go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, and then Display. Everything will now fit conveniently on your screen, no more scrolling back and forth for those of you who were set at a lower resolution.
Fraud on eBay - Second Chance Offers, etc.
Just a quick reminder to let you all know that if you ever receive a second chance offer to purchase an item from us after an auction has closed, do not respond to it. In very rare cases, we may send a second chance offer depending on what the item is, but in most cases we just relist the item if we have a non-payment issue. If you receive one of these offers and you are unsure if it is us, contact us and we will validate the email. Do not click the reply button to the email you received, create a New email.
